The “Behind the Veil” series merges digital printing with pastels, fiber optics and micro-computing, creating layered imagery that explore themes of observation both by and of the viewer. Using the same light wavelengths and imagery used in light and arts therapy, these pieces calm and provoke. Utilizing the calming effect of imagery from nature to draw in the viewer, but as you sit with the work there is more to discover than what is on the surface. Layered imagery conceals a hidden face behind each of the Behind the Veil series with a set of eyes that ‘turns on’ to catch a glimpse of the viewer before turning off again quickly using micro-computers to time the eye movement at random intervals.
Digitally manipulated photographs, embellished with pastel hand-work and embedded with fiber optic pixel of light, the seven pieces comprising the Behind the Veil Series creates an engaging environment. Each piece is 42”H x 64”W x 2”D
