A permanent lighting installation by Lyn Godley, commissioned by SugarHouse Casino as part of the Percent for Art program for the casino’s renovation and expansion in 2015-16. The casino is set along Philadelphia’s riverside, and the installation mimics the flow and reflection of the Delaware River. The project, comprised of 171 dichroic panels and programmable lighting covers the façade of a new 7-story garage spanning almost 300ft in length. Through manipulation of the dichroic panels, and color changing lighting, the panels appear to track through a wide color spectrum shift as the traffic moves past the garage façade. Visible from Delaware Avenue as well as Interstate 95, the installation has become a marker for the Northside of Philadelphia’s skyline.
